Windows 11 is preparing to unveil a number of exciting new features in 2024, with the goal of improving the user experience across various aspects of the operating system.
Although these features are in development, there is a possibility that Microsoft may decide not to release them after public testing.

In 2024, Windows 11 users can expect the following:
Notepad with AI
Microsoft is set to revolutionize the traditional Notepad experience on Windows 11 through the introduction of a new AI feature, appropriately named “CoWriter”.
This incorporation seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence into the text editor, providing users with a range of intelligent editing tools.
CoWriter includes dropdown menus containing ‘Length,’ ‘Tone,’ ‘Format,’ and ‘Instructions,’ which prompt a great deal of customization for the AI to customize the text according to the user’s specific needs.
One notable aspect is the ‘Replace’ button, which suggests the AI’s ability to propose alternatives or adjustments to the selected text.
Additionally, AI exhibits contextual awareness, offering relevant suggestions tailored to the content of the document.
USB 80Gbps Support
The upcoming Windows 11 update will be compatible with the latest USB 80Gbps standard, which will initially be available on specific devices like the Razer Blade 18 with Intel Core 14th generation HX-series mobile processors.
“USB 80Gbps support will initially launch on select devices based on the Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors, such as the new Razer Blade 18,” This week, the Windows Insider Program team said.
“It is fully backwards compatible with peripherals built for older generations of USB and Thunderbolt and works alongside all other USB Type-C features.”
Doubling performance from 40Gbps to 80Gbps, the significant update to the USB4 standard opens the door to higher-performance display, storage and connectivity options.
Additionally, it ensures backward compatibility with older USB and Thunderbolt devices, allowing continued use of existing devices.
Copilot autostarts in Windows 11
Microsoft is experimenting with a feature for Windows 11 Dev Insiders where CoPilot automatically opens during startup on widescreen devices.
For those who may find this feature undesirable, Microsoft has fortunately provided an option to disable it by navigating to Settings > Personalization > Copilot.
Please keep in mind that this feature is currently being tested on devices with a minimum screen size of 27 inches and a minimum width of 1,920 pixels.
Improved sharing choices
Microsoft Edge and various browsers can now use the Windows Share window to share URLs directly to platforms like WhatsApp, Gmail, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn.
To access Edge’s sharing feature, simply click the Share icon in the toolbar.
Lock Screen Weather Updates
An advanced and interactive weather experience is ready to launch on the lock screen, enabling users to quickly check the weather even when their screen is locked.
This functionality allows Windows 11 users to hover over a weather card for in-depth details and click on it to access the full forecast in MSN Weather through Microsoft Edge.
The rollout of this feature is starting with English-speaking users in the United States.
Improvements to Voice Access.
Enhancements to Windows 11’s Voice Access feature this year include expanded language support (French, German, Spanish) and improved multi-display functionality.
Users can now use voice commands for seamless navigation and control across multiple screens. Additionally, English users can use custom voice commands, enabling personalized voice shortcuts for various tasks.
